Internet services play hide and seek in Kashmir

Authorities on Friday imposed restrictions in Srinagar areas falling under the jurisdiction of five Police Stations here as precautionary measures.
The restrictions under section 144 CrPc were imposed in Srinagar areas falling under the jurisdiction of five Police Stations including Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar and Safakadal.
The District Magistrate Srinagar had said that the restrictions are being imposed as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, on the maiden anniversary of slain Hizb commander, Burhan Wani, the Joint Resistance Leaders issued a fresh protest calendar wherein they appealed people to observe complete shutdown on Jul 09 and 13.
Meanwhile, both internet and broadband services played hide and seek since Thursday evening in Kashmir even after the IGP Kashmir Muneer Ahmad Khan denied the reports that internet services won’t be disrupted in view of the law and order apprehension.
The mobile internet and broadband services played hide seek since Thursday evening.
The authorities suspended the internet services on Thursday evening and restored it in the morning hours of Friday.
The services were again suspended at around 02:30 pm and were restored at 03:30 pm. (KN
