As a part of 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Jammu & Kashmir Police organised three-day long water sports festival Jashn-E-Dal – 2021 at SKICC Dal Lake Srinagar under its Civic Action Programme - 2021. The event is organized under the patronage of DGP J&K Shri Dilbag Singh-IPS. Shri S.J.M Gillani-IPS ADGP Armed J&K is the Chairman and Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS IGP Kashmir Zone is the organising secretary of the event. More than 600 players are participating in the event. The event commenced on 7th October, 2021 and shall conclude on 9th October, 2021.
The closing ceremony of the Water Sports Festival “Jashn-E-Dal” which shall take place on October 09, 2021 at back lawns of SKICC Srinagar at 1500 hours shall be graced by Shri Arun Kumar Mehta-IAS Chief Secretary J&K (UT) as the Chief Guest on the occasion. Final event of the Shikara race Kayaking and Canoe Demo followed by Paddle Past by the participating players can be witnessed in the World famous Dal Lake on the closing ceremony. Besides, presentation ceremony shall also take place on the occasion in which prizes shall be distributed among the winners of different events of “Jashn-E-Dal”.
During the 1st and 2nd day of the sports festival Jashn-E-Dal competition took place in 21 events of Sports festival “Jashn-E-Dal”.
SO (Sports) APHQ Shri Dushyant Sharma-SSP, Commandant IRP-9th Bn. Shri Abdul Qayoom-SSP and Shri Shabir Nawab-SSP who were Chief Guests on the presentation ceremony presented medals to the winners. Medals were presented to the first three position holders of 21 events on the occasion.
First three winners of each event who were presented medals are Ansar Ali Matoo of Sports Authority of India (A), Mohsin Ali of J&K Sports Counsil (A) and Showkat Ahmad of J&K Sports Conucil (B) respectively in the event K-1 500 mtrs (Men); the first three position holders in K-2 500 mtrs (Men) are Maqsood/ Villayat of J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoe Association (A), Dawood/ Ansar of Sports Authority of India (A) and Mohsin/ Aamir of J&K Sports Council (A) respectively; In K-2 200 mtrs (Men) the first three position holders are Villayat Hussain/ Maqsood of J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association (A), Ishfaq/ Altaf Hussain of Adventure Club and Ansar Ali/ Dawood Hussain of Sports Authority of India (A) respectively; In C-1 500 mtrs (Men) event the first three position holders are Mysar Ahmad of J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association, Asif Ali Malik of Sports Authority of India (A) and Waseem Raja of Living Kashmir respectively; In C-2 500 mtrs (Men) the first three position holders are Adil/ Asif of Sports Authority of India (A), Ahsan/ Myser of J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association and Irfan/ Waseem of Living Kashmir respectively; In C-1 200 mtrs (Men) event first three position holders are Mysar Bhat of J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association (A), Adil Hussain of Sports Authority of India (A) and Waseem Raja of Living Kashmir respectively; In C-2 200 mtrs (Men) event the first three position holders are Asif Ali/ Adil Hussain of Sports Authority of India (A), Khalid/ Yaseer of J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association (B) and Masior/ Ahsan of J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association (A) respectively.
