To review the performance of Banks and sponsoring agencies, operating in Pulwama district, during the second quarter of current financial year, J&K Bank convened four Block Level Bankers Committee (BLBC) meetings of Pampore, Kakapora, Tral and Pulwama blocks at their respective headquarters.
The bank’s Lead District Manager (LDM) Pulwama Khursheed Muzaffar chaired the meetings that were attended by Director RSETI Abdul Gani Mir, representatives of various Banks/Branches and the concerned line departments/sponsoring agencies.
While taking the review of Social Security Schemes APY/PMJJY/PMSBY, the Chairman BLBC stressed upon all the member banks to renew their focus and strategy to increase the numbers in these schemes to ensure maximum enrolment and dissemination of benefits to the families of down-trodden and unorganized labour class of the society.
The Chairman BLBC noticed an ample scope in the awareness about these social security schemes amongst the staff, business correspondents and requested the FLCC to organise camps to sensitize the staff and Business Correspondents besides disseminating and highlighting information of these schemes at every business unit/branch.
During these meetings, the Chairman BLBC urged the banks and other line departments to expedite the disposal of Government Sponsored Cases (GSS) on priority basis and directed them to process all such cases within clearly defined time frames.
Regarding NPA/default in the GSS schemes, the Chair assured the members that an attempt will be made to develop a feedback mechanism so that all stakeholders including the line departments/sponsoring agencies are sensitized about the quality of cases being recommended so as to have a lower rejection rate at Branches and a lower NPA in overall GSS.
Speaking at these meetings, Coordinator FLCC Rashid Ud Din stated that the Business Correspondents had an important role to play in increasing the number of Social Security Scheme cases in every business unit.
