Expanding its network of branches and alternate delivery channels, J&K Bank opened a Business Unit (BU) at Nud in Samba, Jammu besides commissioning an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at Monghall in Anantnag. The inauguration of these touchpoints has increased the extensive network of the BUs and ATMs of the bank in the country to 947 and 1345 respectively.
The bank’s Zonal Head Jammu (Central II) Narjay Gupta inaugurated the BU in Samba while as the Zonal Head Kashmir (South II) Mohammad Ayub Wanchoo along with Director General Budget Department of Finance Mohammad Yaqoob Itoo threw open the off-site ATM for general public in Anantnag.
Senior officials of the bank including its Assistant Vice President Rajesh Malla Tickoo, Cluster Heads Vinay Gupta and Rafiq Ahmad Matoo, Head Business Unit Nud Vishal Gupta, Lead District Officer Anantnag and In Charge Centralized ATM Department Anantnag accompanied the Zonal Heads at the separate inaugural functions. Chairman Block Development Council Nud, sarpanch of the area, prominent businessmen and local residents were also present on the occasions.
Underscoring the significance of providing easy access to banking facilities at unbanked areas Gupta said, “Despite changing banking landscape, financial inclusion remains one of the core activities of the bank to support financial growth and provide economic impetus that is inclusive and sustainable while providing customized banking services to different segments of customers.”
Echoing Gupta’s remarks, M A Wanchoo reiterated the bank’s commitment towards empowering the society through financial deepening that culminates in its economic transformation and development. “Effective use of financial tools forms the basis of our motto that is ‘serving to empower’. It is through this prudent financial intermediation that the bank has earned the title of being the premier financial institution of the region.”
Both the Zonal Heads while highlighting the Chairman and Managing Director, Rajesh Kumar Chhibber’s vision of overall financial empowerment of the people urged the customers to avail the tailor-made deposit and credit schemes of the bank while assuring them of world-class customer service.
