Jammu and Kashmir BJP senior leader and Cabinet Minister for Industries and Commerce Chandar Prakash Ganga today visited the martyr cop’s family at Panchpora, Sangam in south Kashmir.
The slain soldier identified as Lance Naik Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Rather of Bijbehara, Anantnag was killed in an ambush laid by militants after returning from a cordon in the middle of night last week in Mullu- Chitragam area of Shopian district.
While praying for the brave heart and condolences to the bereaved family, Ganga promised an ex gratia of Rs five- lakh and a job to the family of slain soldier.
The minister also handed over Rs 50, 000 in cash to the bereaved family on the spot.
The locals on the occasion appealed the minister that a play ground be development on slain cop’s name in the village.
Assuring the demands of local villagers, the minister asked the district administration to identify the land for the sport field in the village. “I promise you people that your demands will be fulfilled and I will raise this matter with the government, so that you will get a good sports ground,” Ganga promised the locals.
The minister was accompanied by District President Kulgam, Ghulam Nabi Dar and BJYM State Vice-President Er Aijaz Hussian.
