Kashmir: An Untitled Political Entity

December 03, 2020 | Mudasir Rehman

A state or a province is usually governed by a government under the set of constitutional principles. The government is not a governance by the people, but a rule by a set of constitutional laws followed by the political members of the society to protect the rights of people and secure the territory from internal and external threats. The power of government is vested in the population of a territory. In the legitimate form of government the people of a region choose their trusted representatives to secure their basic, natural and humanistic rights. Usually governments have different forms like democratic, autocratic, monarchy, dicatator, totalitarian, oligarchy, communistic. But, when it comes to Kashmir no title among the aforementioned forms fits to it.

Kashmir the another name of chaos and unrest. While, Looking through the various regional institutions, every institution of the valley reflects destabilization. Whether, they are the biggest and main institution like socio-economic, educational, family, political institute or the miniature institutions, a domicile resident is unsatisfied ever-where. The main and supreme institution of a society is a state, which governs all the other institutions of the society and prevails peace and order to society. The relation between the state and the society is like that of a body and heart, heart works continuously to make the whole body functional and without heart the body will die. Similarly, without a state or a political institutional the society faces disorders and disintegration which ultimately takes away its breaths. Our state claims to be a democratic and constitutionalized, which means the non-dominance of oligarchy and tranny. But, in case of Kashmir this all seems to be theoretical and ideal which never gets the practical shape.
where from this unrest and disorder arises? Who puts fuel to flare? If there is a solution to every problem why doesn’t Kashmir have any? Is the population of valley responsible or its the political arrogance that snatches the goodness of the valley?
As its known to every political scientist and educationist that its state which controls all the social institutions and protects the area from the internal and external threats. In case of Kashmir it seems all the problems arise from this institution which disrupts the functions of all the other institutions of the valley. The ignorance and lack of wisdom in a leadership leads the state towards the nepotism, corruption and self-centeredness. The power gained by an ignorant is a threat to humanity. The nature of state changes its rules in kashmir. Here, when the people signs its contracts with the state, holds the anticipation to protect oneself form the socio-economic crises and threats as is the responsibility of every state but, once the state gets power the hidden and the nepotic faces appears. The people instead of feeling secured and peaceful become insecure and peace-less. An individual instead of feeling dignified and valuable feels undignified and devalued. We are struck in this ground like a football since from decades. A person at the same time faces the two barrels of the gun and supporting to the one kills him on the other side. Staying in this dilemma have shattered the abilities and intellectual elements of the valley. in such conditions the person neither remains of physical world nor of the transcendental. Today a resident of Kashmir is unsafe and labeled as antisocial outside the state, does he really is antisocial by birth or he was forced to become so. There are no inborn opponents but the created ones through subordination. Now a days in the DDC elctions the new humorous elements have stood-up to ensure the rights of the intellectuals and now its clear how gloomy are the coming years. How will it influence the wise and intellectual ones of the society when a person who spends his life to earn the wisdom and diginity later on is subdued and governed by an uneducated members. The ones who couldn’t speak properly what goodness can we expect from them. Who can teach them what is constitution and its laws? How will they obey the constitution what they really don’t know what it really is? Everybody participates to fulfill their wishes and luxurious needs. What kind of government should we callit? I have grown-up through watching this drama from the past years and I found nobody dares to speak the truth, In order to protect oneself from being targeted or to let it go as it is because its not his problem. Remember this quote “People suffer not because of the bad people, but because of the silence of good people”. The people in a state demands diginity, not the wealth and those demanding wealth should be identified and put in the separate ship of materialism. I don’t find any suitable term for such a governance here and I call It the untitled political entity. Here the democracy means “by the people, for the leaders and of the capitalists” The responsible members and requested to shun the materialism and work for the reconstruction of this broken wall before it will loose it foundation too.
