KASHMIR: SKIMS registers protest on Bandipora Rape Case

Today on 14th of May students of Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Science Srinagar carried out a peaceful protest outside the institute to demand the speedy lawful punishment for the culprit of Bandipora Rape Case. Where a 3 year old girl name changed Masooma  was raped by a local boy Tahir Rehman S/O Abdul Rahman Mir of Malikpora Trehgam Sumbal area of district Bandipora. The boy is said to be more than 20 years old.
 
Police at the first helm had arrested the culprit to send him jail till the final investigation get done.
 
Though the people reacted the gruesome incident calmly and left the administration to decide the punishment for the culprit at the beginning of the incident. Yet worsened  after the school where the rapist Tahir Rahman was reading, issued an authority letter that considered the rapist only 10 years old. Then which the claim of the school was further proved fake and fabricated by the administration.
 
In accordance with the same. The students of the SKIMS peacefully registered the protest participated by every student irrespective of any religion, region or community.
 
Collectively considering the incident as the shameful ugly spot on the face of beautiful Humanity and Kashmir itself. The students in the protest were also  head as shouting “Justice For Asifa”  an 8 year old girl of Kathua Jammu, who was gang raped and murdered last year and still the culprits have not been treated with any punishment.
 
Focal slogans and demands from the spot witnessed as “Justice For the Victim, Punishment for the culprit, Girls are not toys, Rapist has no religion, Justice For Asifa” etc.
 
The protesters in generally were seen demanding for the final lawful punishment for all the rapists. As the rape culture has been seen in alarming rate for last few years. But no rapist has been punished in such way to make other rapists learn a lesson.
 
Protesters shared their views during the protest as Ananya  Jamwal an MBBS student from Jammu said “We as medical students consider it as our duty to educate the youth about the evils  talking place in the society and we demand justice for the victim at the earliest hours, as we believe justice delayed is justice denied”
 
Further Ainul Huda an MBBS student at SKIMS said “Child abuse and rape have been a kind of trend in Kashmir. These heinous crimes are rising day by day.  Thus we demand only death penalty for all these rapists and criminals so that none will dare to commit such crimes in future”
 
On thirteenth of May major parts of Kashmir division were shut and witnessed many violent clashes as of Magam Budgam, Khomaini Chock Budgam, Chanabal Baramullah.
