Get inspired by many famous personalities who have played a great role in poetry, but on the commemoration of Syed Ghulam Rasool Gayoor Andrabi, i came to know that he is the greatest poet & writer of Kashmir and will be remembered for longer periods.

While attending the special day of commemoration on 22 Oct ( Gayoor's 15 Death anniversary) at town hall Pulwamma, all his close family members, friends and relatives were present. In the gathering there were various dignified personalities like Professor Dr. Mohammad Aslam former HOD English, Professor Dr Shaad Ramzan, former HOD department of Kashmiri, both University of Kashmir, Rashid Raashid, Dr. G N Haleem a great Islamic scholar, Ghulam Hassan Talib, Syed G M Andrabi Kreeri, G R Mashkoor, Fayaz Dilgeer etc. They have beautified the commemoration of the poet with spiritual illumination and has given the exact realization of great poet and his life. His son Er Showkat Gayoor Andrabi has played a great role in collecting all the pending poetic works of Gh Rasool Gayoor and tried his best to publish them from time to time.
Talking about the legend of the Gh Rasool Gayoor Andrabi he was a man of principles and discipline and inspired huge number of followers of the valley and outside as well. He was widely considered to be involved in numerous social services, welfare culture, literature and poetry of Kashmir. His personality was rich, profound and complex. He was reckless in his sacrifices for the betterment of the society and unceasing attempts to stabiles the actual shape of the society. He had bundles of love for his followers, relatives and friends. He was versatile in his wisdom and exuberant in his emotions. He was using humor in his teachings and his words spoken or written were easier to understand rather than show off of the speaker's and writer's knowledge. He had a great penchant to contribute in the social causes and had critical, scientific, truth speaking attitude. He was speaking what is truth and what is true life. He had manifestation of divinity and tried hard to change the energy resources into humanistic direction. He had introduced ethical and spiritual values in education.
On the 15th death anniversary of Gayoor invited guests have thrown light about Gayoor's life ,in their speech he was an philanthropist, effective leader and master of the mind and sincere. He was a man of powerhouse to move the direction of the society in any positive way .His character was
phenomenal and always inclined towards the betterment of the society.
No doubt, he has won millions and billions of hearts with his poetry and was behaving humbly and respectfully. It is a worthwhile and great moment that he was given title as "Sout-i-Kashmir" (voice of Kashmir). The title was given by a renowned writer, poet & John peet awardee Prof Rehman Rahi. It was said He was providing great support to the needy people and the heart of this approach was to develop have pure relationship with these people.
He was born in a household which is directly associated with education, mostly religious education. At a very young age he was greatly inclined towards Islam and was thoroughly studying about the Islam.
Gayoor became a very popular poet and people adored him in his lifetime. Chief guest of the commemoration, Professor Dr. Mohammad Aslam analyzed his popularity by his poetry especially about the nature and it's beauty. He said that Gayoor was at the level of thoughtfulness and generosity form and graduated him into a poet having deep musings, characterized by dominance of psychological and ethical concerns and motives.
He was fed up with recurrent suppression and wanted to live life out of it. He had a great ability to prop up himself as a savior with his poetry which touched the common man’s heart.
He has described the beauty of nature through his poetry that how Allah has created the natural things and bestowed us with unlimited beautiful creatures and bounties.
Gayoor was an efficient, hardworking and affectionate teacher but unfortunately he left the job of teaching and believed to be the dignity of labor and hard work. The themes of his cover different areas like religion, social, Political and other aspects of mankind.
In the middle part of his life had done a great blunder to join politics and in involved in controversies and by his plain and truthful speeches he was fallen to the bullets on 22 October 2005.
Finally Gh Rasool Gayoor Andrabi always advocated the practical path towards complete self realization, cognitive abilities and to attain the real transcendental state of self.
