Let's Browse our Glorious History

If we hark back the history of Muslim Ummah, we seem Muslims dominating all the thoughts, ideas and all the nations of the world on political as well as intellectual grounds. The notion of God's sovereignty overcame secularism, universality prevailed over nationalism, religion prevailed over disastrous free mindedness, and knowledge was promoted in the realm of truth and science.

No individual would hesitate to acknowledge the existence of God through these things. Muslim scholars and theologians have blessed the tragedy of knowledge to the world . Moreover none of the non-Muslim scientists under their influence had taken the path of atheism. They include great scientists like Newton and Galileo. Until the seventeenth century, religion and naturalism were viewed from the same point of view, but from the early eighteenth century onwards, the atheism seemed to have appeared in the field of science as well. The line between the interpretations of science and expressions of atheism has been blurred to considerable extents. In the present age, where atheism has prevailed, the society has been plagued by incurable diseases. Among these diseases, various kinds of atrocities against women and unjust killing of innocent people are particularly noteworthy and it is the result of this that immorality and adorning women under the guise of feminist slogans is shining ashore. The storms of increasing coffins of innocent people has been increasing all over the world especially in the Muslim world. Nevertheless, the prime cause of all this surging havoc is but keeping the religion away from touching the codes of human life & more importantly demoralizing the arena of politics.
In other words, by rejecting the actual laws of nature, man is wandering in the darkness of error and wickedness at the hands of his own laws. When we knock back the pages of history, it becomes crystal clear that the most civilized and moral people in the world were Muslims. Along with the arts and crafts, the Muslim community was at the forefront of the development in technology and the ability to eradicate social, economic, cultural and political evils was the trait found particularly among Muslim rulers. That is why the Muslim Ummah was equally empowered to improve and develop in the fields of science as well as civilization, culture, society, economy, etc. In these respects, the past of Muslims has been more glorious than the present. Just as people today prefer to turn to the West to stand shoulder to shoulder with the modern age, there used to be a time when people would turn to the Arab world for world affairs , science and development. We must remember that Muslims laid the foundations of knowledge and development of human society.
Baghdad, Damascus and many Arab countries were considered centers of knowledge and research. Thus, in the Abbasi era & Caliphate of Mamun Rashid institution of knowledge and research called Bait-ul-Hikma was set up & in the early period of the Umayyad era, likely institutions established had been churning out great scholars, chemists, philosophers, mathematicians who gathered and made world to salute them.

Allama Iqbal; the poet of the east defined this era in the following couplets;

"Not only deserts, we didn't even leave the river
- we ran horses in the sea of darkness."

If we say that the reason for such mastery of science in the West is the result of the negligence of the Muslims it would not be untrue. The Muslims in the current era are suffering from disunity and mutual hatred. In the seventh century AD, a great chemist like Al-Jamari gave birth . How can astronomers forget Al-Farazi? Jabir ibn Hayyan performed such feats in the field of chemistry for which he was awarded the title of "father of chemistry". When one learns about Muhammad al-Farazi and Yaqub ibn Tariq, who have mastered astronomy and mathematics; the hairs stand on end.
A thousand years before the Wright brothers, Ibn Furnis experimented with the scientific method of flying airplanes. Bu Ali sina has the title of the father of medicine. In addition, Al-Zahrawi, Al-Masoudi Al-Razi and many other Muslim scientists appeared on that basis we still feel proud. The rise and fall of every nation is a feature of every ideology, but when a nation or an ideology sinks into a decline and suffers more humiliation, they face a lot of disgusting consequences. The condition of this nation is like that of free cattle that eat and drink and fight and quarrel with each other. According to Allama Iqbal;
"We lost what we had inherited from our forefathers."
On the other hand, the nations that saw the rise and fall, but they always maintained their hard work and dedication. It has taken over the people mentally, politically, morally and materially. The Muslim Ummah can regain its lost place, the same height that we have lost in the face of wrong choices, but it costs the get together of all the scattered institutions of Muslim Ummah. The Muslim Ummah needs to be reminded of its position. We need to adopt the method of the Holy Prophet, the companions and the Salaf-e-Saliheen and establish institutions of knowledge, research like we had in bygone times.
