Gandbal Boat Capsize
The body of a minor boy, who drowned after a boat capsized in river Jhelum in Gandbal area of Batwara in uptown Srinagar 11, was retrieved from the river on Friday afternoon near RajBagh after 11 days.
The body of minor boy Haziq Ahmed Sheikh, 11 son of Showkat Ahmed Sheikh R/o Gandbal, Batwara was retrieved near Old Zero bridge near Rajbagh area of Srinagar.
The body was found by a local fisherman and it was later fished out by teams of police and SDRF.
The official said that the body has been shifted to SMHS Srinagar for medico-legal formalities.
He said efforts are on to trace bodies of two other missing persons.
Six people died and three others were missing after a boat carrying nearly two dozen people, including school children, from Gandbal to Batwara, capsized in the Jhelum River on April 16.
Among the dead were a 35-year-old woman and her two school-going twins.
