President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi has today said that demonetization has pushed poor people and middle-class in deep distress. Describing Mr Modi as an oppressive ruler, Hyderabad MP Owaisi said here at a public meeting, organised on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi at the AIMIM headquarters, that PM has put in trouble every poor house-hold with the purpose to satisfy his ego.
He said that Mr Modi’s decision was hasty and his dream to bring about a change with the November 8 demonetization would never come true. “It has created panic among the poor, middle-class, workers and agriculture labourers and pushed them into a deep trouble, he alleged. The PM’s move has almost shattered the livelihood of the poor and deprived sections, he pointed out and said that he (Mr Modi) should remember that those who were facing hardships by standing in queues for cash at banks and ATMs today would stand in queues at polling booths in elections to defeat him (Mr Modi).
Mr Owaisi pointed out that the economic experts have projected a loss of three percent GDP or Rs four-lakh-crore due to demonetization. He asked that at Rs 12.5-lakh-crore in Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denomination notes were deposited in banks till November 30 was black money. He said that Mr Modi-led NDA Government had failed to fulfill the promises including controlling the price rise and bring back black money to the country in 1000 days. (With inputs from UNI).
