Mountain Nights

August 12, 2020 | Arfath Wani

Anxiety, stress and depression are some of the most common causes of insomnia, Having difficulty in sleeping can also make anxiety, stress and depression symptoms worsen. As such we didn't have chronic insomnia. But we had wild phobia danger of wild animals and silence of people who were not there. Staying outside is very tough when you don't have what really you want. But there are very perfect and outstanding moments which really had never before. Sometimes we feel like we are under danger but sometimes we feel we are talking directly to sky, start are like our roommates and moon is like our mother. There are very few nights which we stayed outside where there is no concrete roof over but blue sky and stars look after you and provide natural shelter.

It was an awesome experience to stayed two nights outside in mountains.
We felt little hell but mostly heaven .In midnight we heard hundreds of unique and unusual sounds .We were under thin layer of polythene protection. Sometimes wind pinched shades & sometimes flying insects souls were with natural attraction but hearts felt in danger. When we think about death, same as death follows us in various ways. Preparing tea without sugar/salt at 2:50am is a symbol of either you are disturbed or in somehow worry at that time we had reminded horror episodes which happened in mountains, episodes of wild animals and dead souls. Like all activities were happening In front of us.
On second night we had taken shelter into a mud hut that was better than polythene tent and it was fully damaged all walls have been fallen down and half stood on. Staying there was an ultimate experience a room without a door and roof, where drops of rain could easily passed, smell of mud and animals who lived before us was something strange .All our things were speared on the unbalanced floor.. Both nights gave us a lot of experience and ideas how to sleep when you are in danger to keep calm when worry is all around, corners of heart and mind were filled with excitement, enjoyment, worry and pleasure.
We were at new place where we had come never before. Peace was at alarming state; minds had no past memories, no enemy in minds like we were in imaginary world, Prepared food on wooden fire and enjoyed more enough. On second night there was a little rain after midnight but recreation and relaxation were at same portion. The beauty of wild camping is the wilderness. Make sure that you leave the environment as you found it .This will mean taking all waste, human or otherwise, with you when you leave.
Our bigger climbs we often need to sleep in the mountains. This might be at the base or top of our climb or even whilst on the route itself, this type of camping often involves little in the way of sleep tough. Better is to carry all camping equipment’s along with, If anything is missing it proves very difficult to stay outside in mountains.
We should do sustainable activities during camping, no harm to plants, animals and other species. Do something for mountains.
