Murder? Kangan family demands punishment to killers

August 09, 2020 | BK News Service
Family members and relatives of a 28 year old man, whose dead body was recovered from a stream in Central Kashmir a couple of days ago staged a protest on Srinagar-Leh road near Kulan, demanding arrest of killers.

Akbar Ali son of Qasim Ali, a resident of Balti Mohalla Kulan Gund area of Kangan, who was a driver by profession had gone missing on 22 July last month while police had recovered his dead body on 5 August from Nallah Sindh near Gund.

The Family believes Akbar Ali has been murdered and appealed to police to investigate the matter thoroughly and identify the killers.

The protesting family carrying placards and banners read that body had torture marks when it was retrieved from the Nallah Sindh. “We are sure he has been murdered and his body was thrown into the stream. We want justice and stringent punishment to the culprits,” they said.

Akbar Ali is survived by his wife and two little children.

Station House Officer, Police Station Gund Syed Sajad Ahmed said that investigation in this case is going on and they have already questioned some suspects in this regard. “If it is a murder, we will crack it,” he added. (KNT)
