National seminar on 'Kashmiri Philosophers and Indian Knowledge System' organised at KU

Kashmir University's Centre of Central Asian Studies (CCAS) in collaboration with Indian Council of Philosophical Research New Delhi on Tuesday organised a seminar on 'Kashmiri Philosophers and the Indian Knowledge System'.
The national-level seminar was organised in collection with the celebration of Indian Philosophers' Day to discuss various critical aspects related to theme of the seminar.
An eminent panel of experts presented research papers during the event, which was attended by teachers, scholars and students from various academic disciplines.
In her welcome address, Director CCAS Prof Tabasum Firdous gave a brief introduction about the “Philosophy of Life” and comprehensively connected
Western and Indian philosophers.
Dr Wahid Nasaru, Conference Coordinator, presented the theme of the seminar and highlighted its importance.
Keynote speaker Dr. Maroof Ahmad Shah highlighted the role of Kashmiri Philosophers in Indian knowledge system and stressed upon the need of structured cohesive research on the contribution of Kashmiri intellectuals to Indian Philosophy.
In his special address Prof C K Raju talked about “Philosophy of Mathematics” and decolonising of knowledge with critical analysis of the western thought, whereas
Prof. G. N. Khaki highlighted the importance of gaining knowledge across regions for better understanding of the worldly affairs.
The seminar was attended by senior academics including Prof. Irshad Ahmad Zia, Prof Aejaz Ahmad Sheikh, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi, Prof Zahida Jabeen, Showkat
Farooqui, Dr. Irshad Fazili, and other faculty members, research fellows, scholars and students
Dr Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Coordinator of the Seminar, conducted the conference proceedings and presented the vote of thanks.
