Former JK minister and National Conference MLC Mr Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo on Friday expressed concern over problems of common people multiplying with each passing day, saying it seems that the PDP-BJP coalition government is yet to take off despite over 22 months of being in office in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Except for pursuing anti-people policies, the coalition government has bade farewell to development and governance”, Kichloo said in an interaction with several delegations of the constituency.
Kichloo said that the impact of the government is zero in rural and far-off areas with infrastructural development and utility services remaining in shambles. He said the woes of people speak volumes about the failure of government on all fronts.
“The government has not only failed on development front but it has also not been able to seek solution to political issues, as a result of which the state underwent a most traumatic phase this year”, the former minister said, adding that the unprecedented crisis took toll of governanece that left the people of the entire state to fend for themselves. While scarcity of rations at the CAPD sale outlets caused enormous hardships to the consumers, the erratic power and drinking water supply added to their miseries. He said that utility services are almost in shambles with coalition government just doing lip service. “The far off areas are witnessing step-motherly treatment”, he said and referred to various issues confronting to the people of Kishtwar. He said the internal roads taken up under Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojna have not been completed, the electric transformers are not being upgraded to meet the requirements of people..
Kichloo expressed anguish over shortage of staff in the new colleges in entire Chenab Valley region, especially in Thathri, Chatru, Gandoh etc. He said that scarcity of funds has hit the construction and upgradation of schools at Dachan, Sounder, Marwah, Warwan, Paddar, Nagsani, Zohatru and Thatri areas.
The MLC assured the delegations that he will take up forcefully with the executing agencies and various departments the issues pertaining to functioning of utility services as per satisfaction of the people.
