Srinagar, Aug 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday announced a reward of Rs 15 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Mohammad Lateef Bhat, involved in the killing of a policeman in Anantnag district last month.
The police put up posters at prominent places in Kashmir including in Srinagar, seeking reliable information about Bhat, a resident of Kulgam, who allegedly shot dead head constable Ashiq Hussain at Lal Chowk in Anantnag on July 22.
His involvement is also suspected in the killing of two labourers from Chattisgarh in Kilam area of Kulgam on July 31.
The law-enforcing agencies have put up photographs of Bhat, 22, taken from CCTV screen grabs.
The posters appealed to the public to share any credible information about the militant's whereabouts.
“Any person having reliable information regarding the whereabouts of the above mentioned individual is requested to immediately contact security forces,” reads the message in the poster.
