Woman found tied in plastic bag

A shocking incident surfaced in Rajouri district late Sunday after a 45-year-old woman was found tied with a rope inside a plastic bag in an isolated area, triggering panic among locals and prompting swift police action.

According to police officials, the woman has been identified as Azeem Akhtar. She was discovered along a deserted stretch in the Tandwal area after locals noticed a suspicious plastic bag and immediately alerted authorities.

Police teams rushed to the spot and rescued the woman in a critical condition. She was promptly shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Rajouri, where she is currently undergoing treatment and remains under close medical observation.

Officials said the woman was unconscious and severely distressed at the time of rescue. Doctors have described her condition as critical but stable, adding that efforts are underway to improve her health.

A case has been registered, and police have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities stated that further details will emerge once the victim regains sufficient health to record her statement.

The incident has sparked fear and concern among residents of the area, with locals demanding a comprehensive probe and strict action against those responsible.

Police have assured that all possible angles are being examined and reiterated their commitment to identifying and bringing the perpetrators to justice at the earliest.
