87% of Forest Rights Claims Rejected

Jammu, Feb 13: The J&K government disclosed that 87% of claims under the Forest Rights Act, 2006, have been rejected. Out of 45,995 claims filed, only 6,097 were approved. District-wise data showed high rejection rates in Kupwara, Bandipora, and Ramban, while Rajouri and Poonch had the highest number of accepted claims.
