Mera Desh Meri Pehchaan concludes in Baramulla

Baramulla, June 20: The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, in collaboration with Lakshya Foundation, successfully concluded the six-day outreach initiative “Mera Desh Meri Pehchaan 2026” across Uri, Sopore and Baramulla from June 15 to 20.
Designed to promote national integration and youth engagement, the programme showcased India’s diverse cultural heritage through exhibitions, documentaries, artefacts and vibrant cultural performances representing Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Nagaland and West Bengal.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of nearly [insert number] students from Uri, Sopore and Baramulla, reflecting strong youth interest in cultural learning and national unity.
The grand finale was held at Government Degree College (Boys), Baramulla, and was attended by as the Chief Guest, along with civil and military dignitaries.
A major highlight of the event was a colourful cultural presentation by students of St Joseph Public School, Baramulla, alongside performers from Lakshya Foundation, which received wide appreciation for its artistic excellence and patriotic spirit.
Addressing the gathering, speakers lauded the initiative for nurturing awareness, confidence and unity among youth, and emphasized the importance of preserving India’s rich cultural diversity while strengthening national harmony.
The programme concluded with a strong message of unity in diversity, reaffirming the Indian Army’s continued commitment to youth engagement, peace and national integration in the region
