Rethinking Education

Education is a liberating force from all old age traditional societal narratives. Education always brings wave of creativity & intellectual innovations. All traditional approaches to learning & development need holistic overhaul in tone with emerging realities of contemporary times. Having said that the education sector is still imprisoned by traditional tools of learning & development. Rote learning is one of those traditional approaches ,which is shaking foundations of creativity & development .Students are seldom allowed to breed, propagate & nurture ways & means of creativity by forcing them in dark eras of rote learning. Time has come for policy makers to redefine there approach & go for strategic overhaul in our education system.

Firstly the contemporary education system is still based on cornerstone of rote learning. The student community needs to be nurtured by allowing them to get exposed to creativity & development. Every student has some unique talent, which needs to be nurtured & developed. When i was studying in my secondary classes in my vicinity, we were never encouraged to write answers in our own words. Teachers used to give us harsh punishments, whenever we tried to write our examinations in our own words. The class notebooks prepared by us used to be benchmark of any examination or class test .I do no know that how much water is flowing down the stream in that direction now a days. But certainly though this approach ,we are bulldozing the architecture of creativity & development. There is so much inborn talent of researchers, poets, writers & thinkers in our student community .If that talent is nurtured at the right time, we can redraw the intellectual trajectory of our student community .Students need to be encouraged to nurture there hidden talent by undoing the traditional burden of rote learning .I myself had some little talent of writing, but unfortunately was never able to detect it at initial days of schooling .The lack of avenues in initial days of schooling defines whole learning trajectory of student community.
Secondly time has come for policy makers of our education system to reshape there priorities & frame policies in tone with global challenges .The whole approach of rote learning needs to be replaced by creative methods of learning & development. The present system of examinations is only creating unending brigade of students, who are racing on foundations of rote learning. Time has come to introduce a sort of system based on grading system, which is not imprisoned in examination ladder. The developed nations have already introduced that system, which is fountainhead of creativity & development. Let us introduce that curriculum ,which will go a long way in boasting the hidden talent of our student community. The whole approach should be diverted to bring out innate capabilities of students .Let us introduce a system of special competitions in science inquiry ,painting ,writing, poetry etc in order to arrive at a pragmatic template of creativity. The hidden talent of student is that precious asset, which can go a long way in achieving sustainable development goals as well as vision & mission of Viksit Bharat
Last but not the least ,the parent community also needs to come out of their old age phobias of forcing there wards in particular fields. Let our parent community also lend there support in nurturing & boasting the hidden talent of their wards .Better late than never.
