Rajouri, Jan 23: Authorities on Friday ordered the closure of all schools in Rajouri and Poonch districts due to prevailing inclement weather conditions, officials said.
All government and private educational institutions across the twin districts were directed to remain closed for the day as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Officials said the decision was taken on the directions of the Deputy Commissioners of Rajouri and Poonch after reviewing the weather situation. The closure applies to schools in all zones of both districts.
The move aims to prevent risks posed by slippery roads, low temperatures and other weather-related hazards. Parents and school administrations have been asked to strictly comply with the order.
Authorities said further decisions on reopening schools will be taken after reviewing weather conditions, and fresh advisories will be issued accordingly.
