Kupwara, Nov 23: A youth was killed and two others sustained injuries in a road accident in Bumhama area of Kupwara on Sunday evening.
Officials said a collision took place between a motorcycle and an SUV (Mahindra XUV700) at Bumhama area of Kupwara, resulting in on spot death of 25-year-old Faizan Ahmad Peer son of Mohammed Ashraf Peer, a resident of Chek Drugmulla.
Two other persons identified as Asrar Ahmad Shah, son of Mohammed Shafi Shah and Manzoor Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar, both residents of Chek Drugmulla sustained injuries.
The injured were referred to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara for treatment, from where Asrar Ahmad Shah was referred to a Srinagar-based hospital for advanced treatment.
Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident.
