
Sampark, Sandeep Pal Clubs lift women and men titles
The Three day 10th District Handball Championship in senior men and women and Junior Boys and Girls categories concluded today at Playfield Shastri Nagar.
The championship was organized by Players Association Handball Jammu in collaboration with J&K Handball Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
Joint Director Information, Deepak Dubey was the chief guest while Advocate Legal Advisor and Standing Counsel for J&K Hand Ball Association, Achyut Dubey was guest of honor at the valedictory function. The dignitaries presented the trophies to the winning and runners-up teams along with individual prizes.
In his address, Deepak Dubey praised the sports talent in J&K, highlighting the achievements of local athletes at national and international levels. He encouraged further nurturing of talent by the J&K Handball Association (JKHA).
He congratulated the winners, runners-up and all participating teams, lauding the sportsmanship exhibited during the final matches, while congratulating the Player Association Handball Jammu office bearers for organizing the championship.
Earlier, organizing secretary, Rajesh Kapoor welcomed the guests, players, officials, spectators and media persons.
Among others present on the occasion were Rajesh Kapoor Vice President, Rajesh Chandan General Secretary, Sanjeev Jamwal Treasurer, Sulekha Kundal Joint Secretary of JKHA and other members. Around 140 Players from various schools and handball clubs of the district Jammu are participated in the tournament.
The Final match in the senior men section was played between Sandeep Pal Club and Jammu Club in which the former defeated the challenger by 14– 11 Goals. The main scorer for Sandeep Pal Club was Sahil Padha, who scored 6 Goals. Nikhil scored 4 Goals.
The Final match of the Senior Women section was played between Sampark Handball Club and Sandeep Pal Club in which Sampark Handball Club defeated Sandeep Pal Club by 12– 11 goals.
The main scorer for Sampark Women Handball Club was Taniya Mehra who netted 5 goals. Another player Richa Rajput scored 4 goals.
