Srinagar, Sep 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the promotion of 11 Inspectors from the General Cadre to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police.

According to an order issued by the Home Department, the promotions have been granted with immediate effect in Pay Level 8, with a pay scale of ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100.

The officers promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police are Sheikh Azad, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Bashir Ahmad, Mohd Amin, Mohd Alyas Malik, Sanjeev Kumar, Mohd Farooq, Bahar Ahmad, Mushtaq Ahmad, Mir Riyaz Ahmad and Faroog Ahmad.

The order stated that the promotions will remain subject to the outcome of any writ petitions that may be pending before a competent court of law.

The promotions take immediate effect as per the government order.
