Poonch, Aug 4 : Eighteen houses were damaged due to land sinking in Ari Sarhotti village of Mendhar area in Poonch district, officials said on Tuesday.
Officials said that as a precautionary measure, around 100 people from the affected houses were shifted to safer places.
Soon after the incident, the tehsil administration visited the spot to assess the situation and damage caused to the structures.
Tehsildar Mendhar, Rahul Basotra, confirmed that the damage and said that revenue and other concerned teams are on the ground. Further assessment of losses is underway, he added.
