
Shillong, April 9: Assam Rifles successfully conducted the 2nd ARESA Conclave at Shillong, Meghalaya, highlighting its continued commitment to the welfare and recognition of its veteran community. The event brought together 35 Presidents and Secretaries from ARESA Centres across India to deliberate on enhancing coordination, accountability, functionality, and overall welfare for Assam Rifles ex-servicemen and their dependents.
The conclave featured detailed discussions on improving administrative processes, veteran engagement, and initiatives to address their concerns effectively. In recognition of excellence, Dehradun, Silchar, and Gorakhpur ARESA Centres secured the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, receiving rolling trophies and cash prizes for their outstanding performance.
For the first time, the “Veteran Achiever Award” was introduced to honor 16 exemplary veterans who have demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and contribution to the veteran fraternity. Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, GOC SpearCorps, lauded the achievements of the awardees and emphasized the importance of sustaining strong ties between serving personnel and veterans.
The conclave reinforced Assam Rifles’ dedication to its ex-servicemen, providing a platform for engagement, recognition, and strengthening the veteran network nationwide, while ensuring their contributions and welfare remain a top priority.
