
Kohima, Mar 7: The Assam Rifles celebrated a significant milestone as 350 recruits successfully completed 44 weeks of intensive training at the Assam Rifles Training Centre & School (ARTC&S), Shokhuvi. The training encompassed battle craft, weapon handling, live firing, counter-insurgency operations, and physical conditioning, preparing the recruits for operational duties along challenging frontiers.
The Attestation Parade, held at Jasram Parade Ground, was reviewed by Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, who addressed the newly attested Riflemen and congratulated them on completing rigorous training.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted the illustrious legacy of the Assam Rifles, India’s oldest paramilitary force, and its pivotal role in maintaining security and peace in the North East and Jammu & Kashmir. He urged the recruits to uphold the highest standards of dedication, integrity, and professionalism, while embracing modern technologies and evolving operational doctrines to meet contemporary security challenges.
The training program aimed not only to develop tactical and combat skills but also to instill discipline, resilience, and esprit de corps, which are hallmarks of Assam Rifles personnel. The recruits underwent rigorous drills, endurance exercises, fieldcraft, and counter-insurgency simulations, ensuring they are well-prepared for deployment in operational areas.
Upon completion of the parade, the newly attested Riflemen will join their respective units across the North East and other operational locations, continuing the proud tradition of service and commitment to the nation. Senior officers praised the recruits for their perseverance, teamwork, and exemplary performance throughout the training period.
The event concluded with march-past displays, ceremonial salutes, and award presentations, marking a proud moment for the recruits, their trainers, families, and the Assam Rifles fraternity.
