Dimapur, Oct 3: Under the flagship Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Spear Corps and Assam Rifles undertook a series of environmental initiatives across Northeast India, reinforcing their commitment to a cleaner and greener region.
In the scenic Subansiri Valley, a TPM Salvage Management operation was conducted in collaboration with the local civil administration, successfully removing 21 tons of recyclable waste from remote and inaccessible locations.
Meanwhile, in Manipur’s Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts, a large-scale tree plantation drive saw over 250 saplings planted, with enthusiastic participation from local communities, promoting environmental stewardship at the grassroots level.
Further north, in Tinsukia, the ‘Clean Digboi, Greener Digboi’ initiative brought together NSS and NCC cadets in a joint effort to tidy the town and raise awareness about sustainable practices.
Officials highlighted that such coordinated activities not only contribute to environmental conservation but also foster civic responsibility and community engagement. These efforts showcase the Spear Corps’ and Assam Rifles’ ongoing dedication to the Swachh Bharat mission and a sustainable future for Northeast India.
