
Imphal, Mar 14: The Assam Rifles organised a Certificate and Appointment Distribution Ceremony for trainees of the Security Guard Training Programme at the Skill Development Centre located at the Sanjeeveeni Complex in Imphal on March 12.
The training programme was conducted by the Homeland Institute of Security Management with support from the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South). The initiative aimed to enhance employment opportunities for local youth by equipping them with professional security skills and discipline required in the private security sector.
Senior officials of the Assam Rifles, representatives of the Homeland Institute of Security Management and other dignitaries attended the ceremony and congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the course.
A total of 50 trainees underwent the fully residential training programme at the centre. Out of them, 47 trainees were awarded certificates and appointment letters during the ceremony, marking the beginning of their professional careers in the security sector. The remaining three trainees secured placements in Pune, reflecting the programme’s success in linking skill development with employment opportunities.
Officials said the training programme focused on developing essential skills such as physical fitness, security management, surveillance techniques, discipline and communication abilities, enabling participants to meet industry standards.
The Assam Rifles has been actively promoting skill development and employment-oriented initiatives for youth in the region as part of its community outreach efforts. Such programmes aim to empower young people with practical skills, enhance their livelihood prospects and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
