6th International Film festival of Kashmir announces

Srinagar,, April 27: The International Film Festival of Kashmir (IFFK) has officially opened submissions for its much-anticipated 6th edition, set to take place in the scenic city of Srinagar. Widely regarded as one of the region’s most important cultural platforms, the festival continues its mission of celebrating global storytelling while highlighting the artistic voice of Kashmir.

Established in 2006, IFFK has grown into a notable presence on the international film festival circuit. Over the years, it has built a reputation for fostering cross-cultural dialogue through cinema by showcasing powerful and diverse narratives from around the world.
Its landmark 2014 edition stands out as a milestone, drawing over 1,000 film submissions from more than 70 countries, screening 44 films, and hosting over 10 world premieres—an unprecedented achievement for the region.
The upcoming edition aims to build on this legacy by inviting filmmakers, storytellers, and visual artists worldwide to submit their work. The festival is seeking a wide spectrum of cinematic expressions, including independent feature films, documentaries, short films, and experimental works that reflect the evolving language of global cinema.
This year’s festival will be organized by Hot Ice Films Kashmir in collaboration with Seven 2 Creations Kashmir. The partnership is expected to bring fresh energy and a dynamic vision, reinforcing Kashmir’s position as an emerging hub for cultural exchange and creative innovation.
Set against the breathtaking landscapes of Srinagar, the festival offers a rare blend of art, nature, and heritage—creating a unique experience for both filmmakers and audiences. Rooted in the belief that cinema is a universal language, IFFK continues to serve as a bridge connecting cultures and perspectives from across the globe.
Submissions are now open, and selected films will be showcased during the 2026 festival screenings.
