Seven residential houses were gutted in two massive fire incidents in Srinagar on Monday, officials said.
The Fire and Emergency Service officials said two residential houses were gutted in a devastating fire incident at Chanapora area of uptown Srinagar this evening.
Earlier during the day, five residential houses were gutted in Noorbagh area on the outskirts of Srinagar.
The Fire and Emergency Service officials said that fire broke out around 11.20 am in a house at Palpora area of Noorbagh in outskirts of Srinagar and engulfed to other nearby houses.
In the incident, five residential houses comprising three single storey and two triple storey houses were gutted.
“As soon as the fire erupted in the area, several fire tenders were rushed from the various fire stations of the city centre to the spot to douse the leaping flames”, they said adding “the fire has been brought under control”.
No one was injured in the both fire incidents.
The cause of the fire is being ascertained, the officials added.
