
Shuhama, Aug 17: The Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (FVSc & AH), Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), held its third Graduation Day ceremony for the BVSc & AH 2020 batch at Harmukh Auditorium, Shuhama, with 77 veterinary students graduating.
The graduates were presented provisional degree certificates after successfully completing the BVSc & AH programme, while their final degrees will be awarded at the university’s forthcoming formal convocation.
Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, who was the chief guest, congratulated the graduates and their parents and lauded the faculty for its academic and professional contributions.
Calling upon the young veterinarians to embrace the broader responsibilities of the profession, Prof. Ganai urged them to become responsible One Health professionals and conscientious citizens, guided by discipline, integrity and social commitment.
He said the university was working to strengthen its academic and institutional standing nationally while pursuing wider global aspirations through progressive initiatives.
Dean FVSc & AH, Prof. Riaz Ahmad Shah, highlighted the faculty’s academic achievements and congratulated the graduating batch, noting that SKUAST-K veterinary graduates are increasingly finding opportunities in reputed institutions and organisations across J&K, the country and abroad.
Registrar SKUAST-K, Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, administered the Veterinarian Oath, urging the graduates to uphold the dignity of the profession through integrity, discipline, professional ethics and high moral standards.
The ceremony featured an academic procession, felicitation of academic achievers and the best outgoing internee student. A newsletter on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the fourth edition of the Arts & Craft Faculty Club magazine and a documentary produced by the graduating students were also released.
The occasion was marked by emotional moments as graduates and their parents reflected on their academic journey and celebrated the transition into professional life.
The programme concluded with a group photograph of the graduating batch and a vote of thanks by Prof. Abdul Hai, Lead Warden. Senior university officials, faculty members, retired teachers, parents, students and other guests attended the ceremony.
