
Srinagar, Aug 12: Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said 900 doctors have been appointed through the Public Service Commission, while the recruitment process for another 400 doctors is currently underway.
Speaking to reporters, the Minister said the government has also referred around 700 to 800 paramedical posts for recruitment as part of efforts to strengthen the healthcare workforce across Jammu and Kashmir.
Sakina Itoo said the government is simultaneously expanding specialised healthcare infrastructure at various institutions across the Union Territory. The expansion includes CT scan, MRI, Cath Lab and dialysis facilities.
She said the recruitment of doctors and paramedical staff, coupled with the expansion of diagnostic and specialised treatment facilities, is aimed at improving healthcare delivery and ensuring better access to specialised medical services for patients within J&K.
The Minister said the government would continue efforts to strengthen both manpower and healthcare infrastructure across the Union Territory.
