Srinagar, Oct 27: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday reached out to senior party leader and MLA Eidgah Mubarak Gul following his public expression of disappointment over being excluded from the cabinet.

The development came shortly after Gul expressed displeasure over not being accommodated in the Cabinet despite his long political association with the National Conference and his experience as a senior legislator.
Speaking to reporters, Gul said he had attended numerous oath-taking ceremonies over the years without securing a place in the Council of Ministers.
An NC spokesman said the party appointed senior Gul as the General Secretary of the party.
He said party President Farooq Abdullah issued an order appointing Mubarak Gul to the post in place of senior party leader and MLA Khanyar, Ali Mohammad Sagar, who was inducted into the Cabinet today.
The spokesman said Gul formally assumed charge of his new position today in the presence of party President and others.
"A felicitation function was organised at the party headquarters on the occasion, which was presided over by party President," he said.
