Srinagar, Sep 21: RehabNation Healthcare Foundation of India, in collaboration with Abhedananda Home (Department of Social Welfare, Kashmir), and the Department of ENT, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, successfully conducted a comprehensive hearing and speech screening programme for children at Abhedananda Home, Srinagar.

A total of 95 hearing and speech impaired children were screened and examined by the specialist team from the Department of ENT, GMC Srinagar. The team was led by Dr. Jasif Ahmed, Associate Professor, GMC Srinagar, who, along with the medical team, conducted detailed clinical assessments and identified children requiring further medical attention.
Following the screening, two children were advised referral for further evaluation and appropriate management, enabling timely follow-up of their identified healthcare needs.
RehabNation emphasised that early identification of hearing and speech-related difficulties can make a significant difference in a child’s communication, learning, participation and overall development. Timely screening and referral can help ensure that children receive appropriate support at the right stage.
