
The Additional Director General of Police, Armed J&K, Shri Anand Jain (IPS), today inaugurated “Jashn-e-Dal 2025” at the back lawns of SKICC, Srinagar. The event drew enthusiastic participation from water sports athletes, youth, and dignitaries from across the Valley.
In his inaugural address, Shri Anand Jain emphasized the importance of sports and physical activities in shaping the future of the younger generation. He urged the youth to adopt constructive pursuits like sports while steering clear of drug abuse, highlighting that such events foster discipline, unity, and positive growth.
Describing Jashn-e-Dal as a festival of water sports, tourism, and healthy living, the ADGP noted that, it has grown into a platform for connecting communities, inspiring youth, and strengthening police-public relations. This initiative, which began in 1999, has now become an annual feature of Kashmir’s sporting calendar. This year, dragon boat races have been introduced for the first time, adding to the excitement. More than 700 participants are competing across 20 disciplines, many of which feature in the Asian Games, Olympics, and national-level championships,
Jain lauded the enthusiasm of participants, especially the youngest athletes aged 8 and 9 years, who showcased remarkable zeal and talent.
On the occasion Sh. Jain also announced that the first week of October will witness the All India Judo Cluster in Srinagar, with expected participation of around 3,000 athletes all across the country.
Among others the function was also attended by, Shr.Uttam Chan IPS, IGP Headquarters PHQ, Sh. V. K. Birdi (IPS), IGP Kashmir Zone, Sh. Vivek Gupta IPS,IGP, Railways, Sh. Suleman Chowdhary IPS IGP Traffic J&K,Sh. Rayes Ahmed Bhat IPS, DIG CID ,Sh. Sheikh Junaid Mehmood (IPS), DIG IRP Kashmir, Sh. G. V. Sandeep Chakravarthy (IPS), SSP Srinagar Sh. Dalip Kumar SSP SO to ADGP Armed, J&K, Commandants of Srinagar-based battalions, Sh. Munir Ahmad, SSP APCR Kmr along with several senior Police and civil officers.
