Pulwama, Jan 20: Advocate Laila Khalid, daughter of Ghulam Rasool Nadeem from Village Payar, Pulwama, has emerged as a prominent legal professional dedicated to justice and social service in Jammu & Kashmir. Hailing from a modest rural background, she completed her early education at Arya Samaj – Devaki Arya Putri Pathshala and J&K Police School, Bemina, followed by 10 2 at Amira Kadal, and a B.A. LL.B. (Honours) from KCF Law College.

With over 12 years of experience, Laila serves as a Panel Lawyer with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, providing free legal aid to indigent litigants. She is also a member of the Legal Services Unit for Mentally Retarded Persons and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (LSUM) and the Legal Services Unit for Children (LSUC), advocating for the rights of vulnerable groups.
Known for her unwavering commitment to marginalized communities, she extends legal assistance across Kashmir, ensuring access to justice irrespective of religion, caste, gender, or social status. Breaking barriers in a male-dominated profession, she founded Justice Law Firm, focusing on the underprivileged and socially disadvantaged.
