All India Police Games: J&K police win overall Pencak Silat title

 The Jammu & Kashmir Police scripted a remarkable victory by clinching the overall championship trophy in Pencak Silat at the ongoing 10th All India Police Games Judo Cluster, currently being hosted under the aegis of the All India Police Sports Control Board at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex (SKISC), Srinagar

Since J&K Police couldnot field women team, the men alone guided the side to become champion with 13medals, including eight gold, four silver and one bronze.
The overall second placewent to SSB with 47 points earned in both men and women sections while ITBP finishedthird with 26 points. In total, 20 teams took part in Pencak Silat event. TheKarnataka Police could not open the account thus draw blank in the medal tally.
Earlier, J&K emerged overall champion in men section with 53 points while SSB (29) and Assam Rifles (25)remained second and third respectively.
In women section, theoverall trophy clinched by Chandigarh Police with 23 points. The SSB and PunjabPolice secured equal 18 points to finish second and third respectively.
Meanwhile, the competitionin Judo stated today at SKISC in the afternoon session soon after the medal ceremonyof the Karate and Pencak Silat events.
