Anti-terror operations continue in Udhampur, Kishtwar

Security forces on Thursday continued search operations to track a group of six terrorists in Udhampur and Kishtwar districts of Jammu province.
“Search operations resumed in Jopher-Marta forests in Udhampur and the Naidgam-Chatroo belt in Kishtwar in the early hours today,” a security official said.
He said the search operations at both the places were suspended last evening.
“Additional reinforcements were rushed to both the places to track down the terrorists operating in the areas, " the official said.
He said no fresh contact was established with the hiding terrorists in the Jopher-Marta belt in Udhampur after two hour long gunfight yesterday.
“We have inputs that two to three militants are trapped in the area,” the security official said.
He said the search operation in Chatroo forest area of Kishtwar district was going on when reports last poured in.
“We have strengthened the cordon. The drones and helicopters were pressed for aerial surveillance today,” the security official said.
Police and security forces have been tracking terrorists moving from one area to another for the past 17 days following three encounters since the operation started on March 24 in the Sanyal area of Kathua district.
Four policemen and two terrorists were killed in the encounter in the area on March 27.

Police and security forces have been tracking terrorists moving from one area to another for the past 17 days following three encounters since the operation started on March 24 in the Sanyal area of Kathua district.
