Molcham, Manipur, Dec 2025: Assam Rifles has successfully conducted a 10-day tailoring workshop at Molcham village in Chandel District, Manipur, as part of its ongoing efforts under Operation Sadbhavna to promote inclusive development and women’s empowerment in border areas.

The workshop, organized for women from remote villages of the Khengjoi Sub-Division, aimed to provide practical tailoring skills to enhance livelihood opportunities and support sustainable income generation. Participants received hands-on training in stitching, embroidery, and garment making, guided by experienced instructors from Assam Rifles.
Officials highlighted that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to empower women economically, enabling them to contribute to household income and become self-reliant. The program also encouraged entrepreneurship, with discussions on starting small tailoring units and marketing handmade products within and beyond their villages.
Local women expressed enthusiasm, noting that the training has boosted their confidence and opened avenues for earning a living while balancing domestic responsibilities. The workshop also fostered community engagement, with participants sharing experiences and learning collaboratively.
