
Reaffirms veteran welfare commitment
Jaipur, May 10: The Assam Rifles organised an Ex-Servicemen Rally at BM Birla Auditorium, Jaipur, on May 10, 2026 under HQ DGAR, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of veterans, Veer Naris, and their families.
The event was presided over by Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla, SM, Additional Director General, Assam Rifles, and witnessed participation of over 700 ex-servicemen from Haryana and Rajasthan, highlighting their continued strong bond with the force.
During the rally, eight Veer Naris and six gallantry awardees were felicitated in recognition of their sacrifice, bravery, and distinguished service to the nation. The ceremony also served as a platform to acknowledge the contribution of veterans and their families.
A wide range of welfare services were provided on-site, including help desks for pension-related issues, ECHS medical facility support, grievance redressal, documentation assistance, and awareness sessions on various welfare schemes. Medical consultations and rehabilitation support were also made available to attendees.
Officials informed that the Assam Rifles has expanded its outreach significantly, with teams visiting 44 locations across 17 states, interacting with 8,992 veterans, Veer Naris, and dependents. Additionally, 66 bedridden veterans and next of kin have been personally visited and assisted under dedicated outreach efforts. Financial assistance is also being extended on a case-by-case basis to those in need.
Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla, along with Mrs Ritu Bainsla, Vice President of the Assam Rifles Wives Welfare Association, reiterated the force’s unwavering commitment to ensuring dignity, care, and continued support for its veteran community.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed assurance that the Assam Rifles will continue to uphold the welfare and respect of its ex-servicemen as an integral part of the extended Assam Rifles family.
