AR hosts friendly volleyball match to engage Poi Village youth

 In a bid to foster stronger bonds with the local community and promote youth engagement through sports, the Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match with the youth of Poi village in Ukhrul district on July 20.

The event saw the enthusiastic participation of 15 local youths, who showcased their energy, talent, and athleticism on the court. The match was marked by healthy competition, team spirit, and mutual respect between the players and members of the Assam Rifles.
According to officials, the primary aim of the match was to encourage physical activity among the local youth while creating opportunities for meaningful interaction between the security forces and the local populace. “Such events play a vital role in promoting camaraderie, understanding, and trust,” an Assam Rifles spokesperson said.
The volleyball match concluded on a high note with both teams applauding each other's efforts. Community leaders and residents appreciated the initiative, calling it a welcome step towards strengthening civil-military relations in the region.
The Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to supporting youth development and fostering peace and unity through such community outreach programmes.
