The celebrations saw the participation of over 1,000 individuals, including Assam Rifles personnel, students, and local villagers, who gathered at multiple locations including Somsai, Shangshak, Chassad, Poi, Tusom, and Awangkasom. Together, they rendered the historic song, creating a unifying and spirited atmosphere across the district.
Speaking at the event, senior Assam Rifles officials highlighted the enduring significance of Vande Mataram in inspiring national pride and unity. “This song has been a symbol of India’s freedom struggle and continues to resonate with every Indian. Our mass singing event is a tribute to our national heritage and a reaffirmation of our collective patriotism,” an official said.
Students and villagers expressed enthusiasm about participating in the celebrations. “Singing Vande Mataram with our community and the Assam Rifles is a proud moment for all of us. It reminds us of the sacrifices made for our nation and strengthens our sense of belonging,” said a student from Somsai.
