In a heartfelt tribute to the heroes of the Kargil War, the Assam Rifles commemorated the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Medziphema, paying homage to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the nation.
The ceremony drew participation from local officials, Assam Rifles personnel, and members of the community, all uniting to remember the courage and valor of India’s armed forces during the 1999 Kargil conflict. The event served not only as a symbol of national pride but also as a reminder of the resilience and patriotism that define the spirit of the Indian soldier.
In conjunction with the remembrance, Assam Rifles organized a motivational and educational tour for 30 students from the School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University, Medziphema. The initiative aimed to instill a sense of national pride and awareness among the youth, exposing them to the values of discipline, sacrifice, and service embodied by the armed forces.
During the tour, students interacted with soldiers, visited important installations, and learned about the strategic importance of the region. The initiative provided a rare opportunity for the students to witness first-hand the lives and contributions of the armed forces.
The twin events – solemn in remembrance and inspiring in outreach – reflected Assam Rifles' continued efforts to foster deeper civil-military relations and encourage the younger generation to appreciate the legacy of national defense.
