Agartala, Dec 2: Assam Rifles observed World AIDS Day at Agartala, Tripura, reaffirming its commitment to public health awareness, social responsibility, and community well-being. The event, held on December 1, focused on promoting solidarity, awareness, and collective action in tackling HIV-related challenges, in line with this year’s global theme.

An awareness lecture was delivered by Assam Rifles doctors, alongside Mrs. Bharti Chakraborty, Secretary of the Village Development Team, Agartala AIDS Control Society. The lecture highlighted key aspects of HIV prevention, early detection, and the importance of reducing stigma associated with the disease.
The initiative aimed to educate local communities about safe practices, encourage regular testing, and foster a supportive environment for people living with HIV. Officials emphasized that such awareness campaigns are crucial for promoting public health, strengthening community engagement, and supporting national efforts to combat HIV/AIDS.
