
Kollam, Jan 18, 2026: The HQ DGAR Outreach Team visited the residences of four bedridden Assam Rifles veterans in District Kollam, Kerala, on 18 January 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to provide care and support to retired personnel facing health challenges.
The team first met Hav Prasanna Kumar PK (Retd), ex-13 AR, aged 62, residing in Puthoor, who has been bedridden for the past 12 years following a severe stroke. Next, they visited Hav K V Raveendram Pillai (Retd), ex-3 AR, aged 78, from Muthupilakkad, who has been paralysed and confined to bed for the last two years. The outreach team also met Hav K Radhakrishnan Nair (Retd), ex-26 AR, aged 88, residing in Kuthirachera, Punalur, who has been bedridden for two years. Finally, the team visited Hav G Daniel Kutty (Retd), ex-4 AR, aged 68, from Valakam, paralysed due to a stroke and bedridden for the last six months.
During the visits, the team interacted with the veterans and their families, assessing their medical needs and overall well-being. They assured the veterans of continuous support from the Assam Rifles, including assistance for medical care, mobility aids, and other facilities to improve their quality of life.
The veterans and their families expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the thoughtful visit and ongoing support, acknowledging the DGAR Outreach Team’s compassionate approach and dedication toward the welfare of retired soldiers.
