
Chandel, Aug 3: Assam Rifles conducted a Registration-cum-Selection Drive for its Pre-Recruitment Training Programme at Modi, Chandel district, on August 1, 2026, providing aspiring Agniveer and Territorial Army candidates an opportunity to prepare for a career in the Armed Forces.
The drive witnessed participation from 175 aspirants, including 125 males and 50 females, who underwent registration, document verification, medical screening and physical fitness assessments.
Following a rigorous selection process, 50 candidates (34 males and 16 females) were shortlisted for the next phase. The selected candidates will undergo a two-month pre-recruitment training programme from August 10 to October 10, 2026.
The training will focus on enhancing physical fitness, preparing candidates for written examinations, developing personality traits and strengthening leadership skills required for military service.
Assam Rifles said the initiative reflects its continued commitment towards youth empowerment, skill development and creating pathways for local youth to join the Armed Forces.
The programme is aimed at motivating aspiring candidates from the region and equipping them with the confidence, discipline and capabilities needed to succeed in defence recruitment and contribute to nation-building.
