AR Trains NCC cadets in drone operations skills in Tripura

June 27, 2026 | BK News Service

Agartala, June 26: In a step towards empowering youth with modern defence skills, Assam Rifles under Spear Corps conducted a specialised training session for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets at the Agartala Garrison Ground in Tripura. The programme aimed at exposing cadets to contemporary military technologies and field challenges, combining both technical and physical training modules to enhance their overall preparedness and confidence. As part of the training, cadets received hands-on exposure to drone piloting, where they learned the basics of unmanned aerial system operations, control mechanisms, and their practical applications in surveillance and reconnaissance roles. The session was designed to introduce young participants to emerging technologies increasingly used in modern defence operations. In addition to the technical module, cadets were put through a structured military obstacle course, testing their physical endurance, agility, teamwork, and mental resilience. The course simulated real-life challenges faced in operational environments, giving cadets a taste of discipline and perseverance required in uniformed services. Officials stated that the overwhelming enthusiasm and active participation of the NCC cadets reflected their strong interest in defence-oriented careers and their willingness to engage with advanced training methodologies. The initiative is part of Assam Rifles’ broader outreach efforts to inspire and prepare the next generation of potential defenders by bridging the gap between academic learning and practical military exposure. By introducing cadets to both technology-driven systems like drones and traditional physical training, the programme sought to develop a balanced skill set aligned with the evolving requirements of modern armed forces. The event concluded with interactions between instructors and cadets, where participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity and motivation to pursue careers in defence and national service.
