Baramulla, Jan 20: On 8 March 2026, as the world observes International Women’s Day, the International Human Rights Organization – Jammu & Kashmir Chapter (IHRO) proudly commemorates the occasion on the historic land of Kashmir, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to women’s empowerment, gender equality, human dignity, and social justice.

To mark this significant day, IHRO J&K Chapter will confer Hosla Afzai (Encouragement) Awards upon 100 exceptional women from across the Kashmir Division, recognising their remarkable contributions in diverse fields. Among the distinguished honourees is Ms Arbeen Farooq, whose felicitation by IHRO is a matter of immense pride for the organization.
Arbeen Farooq, a distinguished humanitarian and author of Her Infinite Universe: A Woman’s Journey from North Kashmir, is a devoted wife and committed community leader. She stands as a powerful symbol of compassion, resilience, and selfless service.
Her humanitarian journey began in 2021.Her unwavering dedication continues to inspire communities across Kashmir. She firmly believes that success is built on commitment, hard work, and steadfast determination.
Arbeen Farooq also expresses heartfelt gratitude to Sharkies Play School for the honour bestowed upon her, appreciating its passion for holistic learning and nurturing young minds. She extends sincere thanks to Dr. Irfan Nazir and Fayzana Ma’am of Stadium Colony, Baramulla, for shaping the school into a space where learning begins with care, creativity, and commitment.
