September 17, 2025 | BK News Service

Manipur,Sep 16: In a major crackdown on insurgent activity, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Spear Corps, conducted a series of intelligence-based joint operations from September 6 to 13 across multiple districts of Manipur in coordination with the Manipur Police.

The operations, which spanned the hill and valley regions, including Tengnoupal, Thoubal, Imphal East, and Jiribam, led to the apprehension of six active insurgent cadres. Security forces also seized six weapons along with a cache of war-like stores, dealing a significant blow to anti-national elements operating in the region.
According to official sources, the operations were launched after credible intelligence inputs indicated the movement and presence of armed militants in the aforementioned districts. Swift and coordinated action by Army units, Assam Rifles formations, and state police forces ensured minimal disruption to civilian life while achieving operational success.
The apprehended individuals are believed to be associated with active insurgent outfits and were allegedly involved in various unlawful activities aimed at destabilizing peace and order in the state. The recovered weapons are currently under forensic examination, and further investigations are underway to uncover potential linkages and future threats.
This series of successful operations underlines the sustained efforts of security forces to restore normalcy and peace in Manipur, a state that has faced periodic insurgent threats. The collaborative synergy between central and state forces demonstrates the high level of operational preparedness and intelligence-sharing mechanisms in place.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and appealed to citizens to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activity in their localities.
